All of God’s Creation

Sun Day, September 21st, will be a national event designed to accelerate the growth of solar energy despite recent headwinds. Hundreds of Sun Day events are being held across the country to celebrate the remarkable success of solar energy and to push for even greater progress….

One event planned for Philadelphia is Sun Day Philly at Love Park, 15th and JFK Blvd., from 11:00 am to 3 pm. It will be packed with solar powered and sun inspired activities for all ages:  live music, arts, solar kits for teachers, model solar car races, EV display, solar s'mores, educational booths, and actions we can all take to let our public officials know we need more solar NOW.” (The Sylvanian, Sierra Club Pennsylvania Chapter, 8/25/25)

“On Wednesday, August 20th, the Energy Justice Advocates and their supporters rallied outside Philadelphia’s City Hall to celebrate a win in their intervention in the Philadelphia Gas Works rate case at the Pennsylvania Utilities Commission…. State Representative Chris Rabb (PA District 200 - Mount Airy), a strong supporter of environmental issues, reminded [those gathered] that we still have work to do and that Pennsylvania is one of only two states that includes environmental stewardship in its constitution…. The coalition of Housing Equity, Repair, and Electrification for Climate Justice will continue to work to bring PGW’s business model in line with the City’s commitment to 100% clean energy by 2050.” (Emily Davis, The Sylvanian, Sierra Club Pennsylvania Chapter, 8/24/25)

The Ready for 100 (RF100) campaign was started by the Sierra Club in 2016. In the nine years since, the campaign has helped hundreds of local, county, and state governments across the country set goals to transition to 100% clean, renewable energy in the electricity sector by 2035, and in all sectors, including transportation and heating, by 2050. In Pennsylvania, 47 municipalities to date have agreed to those goals by adopting resolutions. Most of the resolutions were initiated by their Environmental Advisory Councils (EACs)….

Meanwhile, the goal of educating the public about clean energy incentives is more urgent than ever. Federal tax incentives, grants, and rebates end on December 31, 2025, for residential investment; for non-profit, faith-based, school, municipal, and commercial entities, projects must start by July 4, 2026. It’s important to act before these financial benefits disappear.” (Andrea Strout and Michael D’Adamo, Ready for 100: Still Here When You Need Us, The Sylvanian, Sierra Club Pennsylvania Chapter, 8/24/25)

The climate activists won't give up. It's like their energy is renewable. (Tom Toro, Cagle Cartoons, Union of Concerned Scientists calendar 2026)
